Aksai’s New Secondary School Opens as a Modern Educational Hub

A new building for Secondary School No. 1 has opened in Aksai, West Kazakhstan Region. The modern facility replaces the town’s outdated school infrastructure and forms part of the Schools of the Future initiative.

The project was overseen by the general contractor Altair-SK7, with design and construction carried out by Kazakhstan-based firm KAZGOR-STROY.

The two-storey school spans seven blocks, housing 28 classrooms with interactive whiteboards. Specialised rooms include spaces for fine arts, graphics, technology, home economics, and computer labs. A cafeteria, library, assembly hall, and coworking areas are also part of the new design.

For younger students, the school features dedicated primary-grade classrooms and a preschool section. Older pupils have access to a STEM lab, IT classroom, and physical education facilities. The outdoor grounds include a children’s playground, football and basketball courts, and running tracks. At the opening ceremony, Nariman Turegaliyev, the akim of West Kazakhstan Region, highlighted the project’s significance. The new school can accommodate 300 students, addressing long-standing concerns over the town’s ageing educational buildings.

The completed facility now serves as a key educational hub in Aksai. Its modern amenities and expanded capacity aim to improve learning conditions for local students. The project marks another step in the region’s Schools of the Future programme.
