Ahead of the University Clearing chaos, ARU presents an opportunity for early campus explorations
Anglia Ruskin University Hosts Clearing Open Day Before Results Day
Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is inviting prospective students to explore their study options and get to know the university before clearing and results day on 14 August. The Clearing Open Day takes place on Wednesday, 6 August, from 2pm until 5pm, with simultaneous events at the Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough, and Writtle campuses.
This dedicated opportunity allows attendees to explore course options, meet staff and current students, learn about campus life, and get direct advice on clearing and application processes. Over 230 courses are available at ARU through Clearing, including Law, Psychology, Business, Sport Science, and land-based courses at ARU Writtle. Courses attracting significant interest include Biomedical Science, Optometry, Nursing, and Paramedic Science.
To encourage environmentally friendly travel, ARU partners with Stagecoach East and Greater Anglia to offer discounted bus travel to the event. Participants receive discount codes upon signing up for the Open Day. Blue badge holders can arrange parking by contacting ARU in advance. Parents and supporters are welcome to attend, making this a supportive environment for decision-making.
For those who register in advance of Thursday, 7 August, ARU offers a fast-track service. This includes a dedicated phone line, welcome ambassadors, and a digital pack with information and tips on starting university. Expert staff will be available in Cambridge and Chelmsford to provide advice on results day, with extended phone line opening hours.
The phone line will be available from 8am-8pm on 14 August, 8.30am-6pm on 15 August, 10am-4pm on 16 and 17 August, and then from 9am-5pm from 18 August onwards. Anyone can apply to ARU's Clearing before results day by calling 01245 686868 between 9am and 5pm weekdays, or by emailing answers@our website.
Last year, ARU advisors spoke to over 2,500 clearing applicants on results day. Clearing applications are traditionally the busiest on results day, and it is the final opportunity for people to apply to university for the 2025/26 academic year.
