Afenyo-Markin builds ICT center, library in honor of industrialist RC Ekem
Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, MP for Effutu, has opened a new ultra-modern library and ICT centre. The facility honours Richard Ekem, who quietly supported Afenyo-Markin’s education without his knowledge. This marks the 19th library the MP has established in the constituency.
The newly commissioned library includes a 100-seat ICT centre, a 150-seat conference hall, and private reading rooms. These spaces aim to boost digital learning and skills development in the area. Afenyo-Markin has long prioritised education, funding most of his previous libraries through personal savings and donations.
Richard Ekem’s role in the MP’s early education remained unknown until recently. His support helped shape Afenyo-Markin’s dedication to improving access to knowledge. The new centre reflects that commitment, offering modern resources for students and professionals alike.
The library stands as Afenyo-Markin’s 19th educational project in Effutu. It provides advanced facilities for learning and community events. The MP’s focus on human capital development continues to expand opportunities for local residents.
