Adinkra Fellowship announces its inaugural 2026 cohort of global black leaders

The Adinkra Fellowship has revealed its 2026 Cohort, a group of twenty outstanding Black leaders under 40. These individuals were selected from 1,257 applicants across 84 countries, showcasing talent from Africa and the global diaspora.

The programme highlights rising stars in fields like technology, governance, education, and community development. Each Fellow was chosen for their professional achievements and potential to create lasting impact.

The selection process relied on a merit-based system, overseen by a jury mostly made up of journalists and media executives. The 2026 Fellows represent countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Senegal, as well as Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and many others.

Beyond the main cohort, the Fellowship will also present Special Honors for Career Achievement and Outstanding Black Leadership. This recognition aims to celebrate those who have made significant contributions in their fields.

In early 2026, the Fellows will gather in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, for an in-person immersion from February 12 to 15. The event will serve as a platform for networking, learning, and collaboration among the new cohort.

The Adinkra Fellowship continues to expand its global reach, uniting leaders from diverse backgrounds under a shared mission: to elevate Black excellence worldwide. The initiative remains focused on fostering connections and driving meaningful change across industries.

The 2026 Adinkra Fellowship Cohort brings together twenty leaders from 24 African nations and the diaspora. Their selection reflects a commitment to professional excellence and transformative leadership.

The programme’s upcoming immersion in Abidjan will provide a space for these leaders to connect, exchange ideas, and further their impact. Special Honors will also recognise individuals who have demonstrated exceptional contributions in their careers.
