A flood-prone school transforms into a beacon for ethnic minority education
The Chiêm Hóa Lower and Upper Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minority Students has made remarkable progress since its founding in 2021. Built on the ruins of an old district boarding school, it now serves 480 students from remote ethnic communities. Despite early challenges, the institution has become a model for educational reform in the region.
The school opened in difficult conditions. Its dormitories and multi-purpose hall sat in a flood-prone area beside a stream, leaving classrooms at risk during storms. Yet, from the start, leaders focused on modernising education and improving student life.
The institution now stands as a success story in ethnic minority education. Its blend of modern teaching, student support, and academic achievement has set a new standard. With ongoing reforms, the school continues to expand opportunities for its students.
