2 Chainz surprises Atlanta high school seniors at career-inspiration festival

Seniors at Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta got an unexpected treat this week. Grammy-winning rapper 2 Chainz made a surprise appearance as part of the school's second annual BTW Fest. The event aims to show students a range of career options before they graduate in just 40 school days. The festival, backed by Page Turners Make Great Learners and the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, brought together professionals from different fields. Speakers included filmmakers, Meta employees, and representatives from Mercedes-Benz. Students had the chance to hear directly from industry experts about their careers.

Principal Tiauna Crooms stressed how important this exposure is for young people in the community. She believes seeing real-world professionals can inspire students to think beyond their immediate surroundings. Mike Binns, a board member of Page Turners Make Great Learners, echoed this, saying that meeting diverse professionals helps students imagine new possibilities. Valedictorian Joseph Rosser shared his own ambitions during the event. He plans to become a drone engineer and urged his classmates to pursue their passions. The festival, which first ran in 2022, has already proven popular, and organisers hope to keep it going in future years.

The event wrapped up with students leaving with fresh ideas about their futures. With graduation just weeks away, many now have a clearer sense of the paths they could take. The success of BTW Fest suggests it could become a regular fixture for inspiring Atlanta's next generation.
